Frequently asked

Dizzin questions, answered.

How the pattern engine works, what stays private, and everything in between.

What is Dizzin?

Dizzin is a vestibular symptom tracker for iOS. You log dizziness and vertigo episodes plus a quick daily check-in, and Dizzin runs statistics on your own history to surface which factors — sleep, sodium, stress, weather and more — tend to precede your bad days. It's built for Ménière's disease, vestibular migraine, BPPV, PPPD, vestibular neuritis, and people still searching for answers.

Which conditions does Dizzin support?

Dizzin has condition-aware modes for Ménière's disease, vestibular migraine, BPPV, PPPD, and vestibular neuritis, plus an undiagnosed mode. Each mode tests the factors most relevant to that condition — for example sodium and barometric pressure for Ménière's, or sleep, stress, and cycle for vestibular migraine.

How is Dizzin different from a normal symptom diary?

Most diaries only store what you log. Dizzin analyzes your history with lag windows and confidence gates and tells you what likely matters and what probably doesn't. Findings are labelled Strong, Possible, or Early signal, and Dizzin reports what it has ruled out so you're not chasing noise.

Is my health data private?

Yes. Your episodes and daily logs stay on your device and pattern detection runs on-device. Dizzin never shows ads and never sells your data. Only your account details and subscription status are stored on our server so you can sign in and manage Pro. Optional Pro cloud backup stores an encrypted copy in your own iCloud or Google Drive, not on Dizzin servers. See the privacy policy for details.

Does Dizzin work offline?

Yes. Logging and pattern analysis happen on your phone, so you can record episodes and view insights without a connection. An internet connection is only needed for sign-in, fetching weather for a check-in, and managing your subscription.

How long until I see patterns?

From day one you'll see basic trends like episodes per week and time-of-day windows. Stronger correlations need enough data — typically a couple of weeks of consistent logging — before Dizzin will label them, so it doesn't mistake coincidence for a real trigger.

Can I share my data with my doctor?

Yes. Dizzin generates a clean PDF report with episode trends, detected patterns with dates and counts, medication adherence, and questions worth asking your clinician. It's designed to make a short appointment far more productive.

Does Dizzin track the weather automatically?

Yes, if you allow location access. When you save a daily check-in, Dizzin fetches local weather and barometric pressure — a known vestibular trigger — and stores the values, not your coordinates. You can deny or revoke this permission any time.

Is Dizzin free? What is Dizzin Pro?

Dizzin is free to start, including episode and daily logging and core insights. Dizzin Pro unlocks advanced features such as deeper pattern analysis, full PDF reports, and encrypted cloud backup to your own iCloud or Google Drive. You can manage or cancel your subscription in the app.

Can Dizzin diagnose my condition?

No. Dizzin is a self-tracking tool, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. The patterns it surfaces are statistical correlations in your own logs — helpful context for you and your clinician, not medical advice. Always talk to a qualified healthcare provider about your symptoms.
